Fanners are about through sowing oats, and seime of them are beginning to plow for corn. The dance at the residence of Mr. Zard last Saturday evening was a decided success, and all enjoyed a splendid time. Some of onr teachers will leave for Valparaiso in a few days, where they will attend school this summer, we think this, a good idea. Elmer Snoddy closed his term of’school at district No. 1, last Thursday with a fine exhibition in the evening. We think Elmer is a fine young man, and one that will make his mark in life, among his fellow men. W. E. Overton, now residing near Kniman, made a flying trip down here last Monday, looking after some wolves. The other day as Will Childers, of Kniman, was coming to Pleasant Hidga, lie gvit off his horse by the roadside, and was going across a field to see some one, when on passing an old log he happened to look in. and found G young wolves, which he secured. The W. 0. T. U. held their county convention at the .Dixie school house last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This was a decided success; they had Rev. Wade of Lafayette, with them and everything went off in good order. 113 persons joined the two societies, the White and Blue Ribbon. Old J
