Founder of a Party Dead.
Hon. David White, of the Pittsburg Gazette, and the founder of the Republican party, died at his residence at 8 wick lay, Sunday. The deceased was eighty-three years of ags. “Deacon” White, as he was familiarly known, was born in Wareham, Plymouth county, Massachusetts, August-25, 1805. In 1841 he went to Pittsburg and purchased the Gazette. He was an uncompromisingopponent of sky ary, and in 1855 published a call for a county convention to form a new party. The call had but few signers, but when the convention met every district in the county was. represented by a dnly ’fhcted dt.igafe.
