The Shakespercan Entertainment.
The Rensselaer High School will give a Shakesperean entertainment, similar Dickens and Scott entertdinnients given two and bhe years ago, respectively. The proceeds are to be applied to the Dickens’ library, The great good which has resulted from this library will be sufficient to stimulate all lovers of education to greater efforts to make the Shakespearean entertainment a greater financial success thah either of the previous two, so that our already large find excellent library will be increased two or three hundred volumes- The good people of Rensselaer will, again aid us in preparing one of the firiest public suppers given in our towii, by contributing liberally of those viands which so deliciously satisfy the inner man. The articles desired will be chickens, turkeys, hams, Eeef, cakes, pies, bread, butter, preserves, eream, milk and all kinds of other good things that the kind donors may see fit to give. In a week or so the several committees will visit each family in toAvu to solicit the necessaries for the supper. An entertainment of an hour’s length will follow the supper. All the exercises will be taken from Shakespeare.s works. A full programme will be published in due time. One of the principal features of the evening will be the sixty costumed characters, all taken from Shakespeare. This grand entertainment .will ■ be given Friday evening, April 27, ■ in the Opera House.
