The Wass Conventions.
' A legislative committee, in Neu York, has made exleusive. enquiry into the best and most civilized means of of causing death in cases of capital punishment, and strong ly advises the use of electricity. A strong charge of this misterious force literally kills a man before he knows it. Death by it is absolutely painless.
A full attendance of the members of the Republican County Central Committee at the meeting called for Saturday, is much to be desired- It is of the greatest importance that the right men should be chosen as officers of the committee, especially the chairman, and in addition to this work, there will doubtless be other important political business come before the meeting, in the consideration of which every township ought to bt represented by their chosen chairmen.
At the Republican precinct mass •conventions, held last Saturday afternoon, to organize committees for the campaign and to elect delegates to the Logansport convention, the following results have been reported: MARION TOWNSHIP. North Precinct: Committee, AV. B. Austin, chairman and member of county central committee; other members, Jas. F. Antrim, Chas. W. Coen, Henry Grow, P. S. Hemphill. Delegate to Logansport, H. W.
