A Fire Bell.

Rensselaer is now provided with a lire alarm and at almost no ex- 1 pensef By the consent of the County Commissioners a clapper has been attached to the bell in the court house, so arranged that it will not, at all, interfere with the ordinary ringing of the bell, and from the trial that has been given, it will doubtless make an excellent alarm. A special rope is : attached to the fire clapper and • comes down into the porch of the j court house, being thus easily got at in case of a fire.
