Nature’s Mysterious Way.

The earthquake of last year left deep pits in the land between Charleston and Summerville, and on the mrrgins of these was white sand, such as is seldom found except near the sea shore. On this sand has prting up a dense growth of seaweeds, and it is conjectured that the seeds whence sprung this growth had been buried at a great depth for many centurbs.
