Will Buy a Fire Pump

The town Board, at their meek ing Monday night, directed the committee on fire protection to buy a fire pump, on trial. The pump which we understand is to be ordered, is mounted on low trucks and lean be drawn about by a couple of men. It works by brakes, ' much like those of a hand car, and 'four or six men can work at them, at a time. It is claimed to be ; equal, in efficiency, to an ordinary hand fire-engine, and costs not a quarter as much. If it is what its ; manufacturers claim it to be, the town ought to buy several of them,, at once, and also provide for more fire cisterns. /
