Newton Township Institute.
The teachers of Newton townshis convened at Saylorville, Nov. 12, 1887, to hold the second Institute of the school year. The institute was called to older at the appointed time by the township principal. All the teachers were presents except two. After appointment of critics and reading of program by secretary, the following subjects were presented and discussed: Beading, Dorothea Goetz; Language, Mr. Porter; Arithmetic, Chas. Yeoman; Orthography, Alice Henkle; History, Will Pringle; Physiology, Emma Goetz. After report of critics and other miscellaneous business, the minutes of the session were read and the institute adjourned to meet the second Saturday in December. c.
