AVealrhy Texans Being Bla< ktnailed by Mexican Bandits. Wealthy merchants at Rio Grande City are in a "etate of terror owing to the threats of Mexican bandits,who menace their lives and those of their families, this information being contained in the following correpondence ob ained direct by wire f rom the interested persons themselves: L. B. Locasse, merchant of Rio Grande City, was notified to pay SB,OOO. The notification was signed by . J 8. M. 8. Amigos. Manuel Guerra, living in Rome, received a letter bearing the postmark of Rio Grande Citv, and enclose i in the envelope, which had' mourning borders, two slips of ordinary wrapping paper, one to Guerra, which read as follows; Plaoe 88,000 in the same manner and place ae Marrie paid hi« ransom. Failing to do so withi»the time specified, you and your family are condemned to death, and to suffer previously such tortures as you may imagine. This document was signed Lascoidad ContreLos Cabrona. The other slip was addressed to Con Acianco Garrera, and read: You will send us sl,soo in the same manner, and to the same place as Barreta paid his ransom. Failure on your part to comply will subject you and your family to suffer death by dynamite and such other punishment as we may choso to Inflict.
