We still adhere to the opinion expressed last year, that the county fair at Rensselaer can never be successful to any considerable dogiee, until more comfoitable and commodious grounds are secured for it. The building stands lon an eminence in tlm ndft'liern I part of the city and -commands a view of tlie entire city. -The main building is four storiesrthigh and I the wing is three stories. ' The. h'ligth ot th'.* building is pj-j feet long l?y 11)2di et deep. From the : basement to the final height is 120 feet. In the basement is a large , laundry room. The cellar extends throughout the entire edifice. On the first floor to the right of the entrance is the chapel: on the left are the dining room, kitehen, kitchen bakery and store room. On the second Door are school rooms, sewing rooms, imirinary-; two large school rooms are .at th-* right, and back of these are- a|>artments for the Sisters. On the upper floors are the dormitories and a large reception room." ’ The building is o£ brick. It will i be heated by steam, and lighted with gas. and is supplied with water service on every tlogr. A large cooking range will do service in the kitchen. Attached to the institution is a fine grovo which .will be used for the orphans. There are twenty-four acres of ground belonging to the Asylum.
