THE COMING FAIR.
WiH It Be a Success? „. ’ ’ 7 ' 1 A careful canvassing of the prospects for the county fair, to be Liolden next week, furnishes good reasons for believing that it will be among the best, if not the best, ever held on the grounds. The late rains have put farmers and business men in a happy and hopeful state of mind, have- cleared and cooled the atmosphere and effectually disposed'of the dust. There is more fine stock in the county now than ever before aiia; so fur as may be judged from promises flhat have been made, moi e disposition -to show it. at the county fair. Indications especially point to an immense display of fine horses and cattle, both from within theteounty and from without. Other stock, fowls Ac., will also be well represented, and that the always full and most interesting departmf'nts in woman’s work and art will be fully up “to former standards, there is no doubt, whatever. The display of machinery of various kinds, will also Le a prominent feature of this fair, and nmeng'-otfrer features in tliis depr.rtinent will be a small engine in operation and running various other machines. The excellent condition in which the grounds have been put, is a sufiieient guarantee that the -management or the faiT propose, to do their full share in promoting its success. The old stock sheds have all been torn down and rebuilt, largely out of new material, and are now substantial, convenient and spacious.—There are 35 newhorse stalls, 8 feet wide, and 25 that are 6 feet wide, and all of them box sta Ils. For cattle there are GO’new stalls, 5. feet in the clear, and large yards for the exibition of herds. These accommddations will be nono ; tba ample. New 1 fences have been put up, and the race track has be6n put in a better shape than ever before. The amphitheater is also being rebuilt and made comfortable ancF wnrr-. -Jf hxrFHrmrl-Hitii ’is pr actically new, having been built only last year. To sum up, it may safely be said, in answer to the interrogatory in the head-lines of this article, that urilessrtirsweatheT proves entirely unfavorable, . the fair will certainly be a very complete success.
