The Bore at Monon.
The company which is prospecting for gas or oil at Monon, has had considerable hard luck, and consequently has not made the progress which might otherwise have been expected. After boiing 270 feet the the hole began to take a sideways direction, an d the derrick was moved and a new boring bugun, 20 feet from the first. Yesterday morning they had reached a depth of 450 feet, and were making about 10 feet a day. They are now boring in a blue limestone, nearly as hard as marble. The company which is paying for the boring belongs at Logansport, Mr. Booth, a wealthy, flour manufacturer of that city being at the head of it They have greater expectations of finding oil than gas. They already have a fine flowing'well, of sulphur water.
