A Stern Parent Eluded.

Late last, Wednesday evening Was ingtun S.' Lowmau, postmas and station agent at Pleasant fUdge, came into town,*,in company with Miss Emma Eeish, daughter of his former partner in business, John S. Eeish, also of Pleasant Ridge. Finding Dept, Clerk Sehyler Irwin he procured a license and a little later in the evening they were married by Squire Wood, at his residence. The next day tire father of the young lady came into town determined to put a stop to the whole busine.- m* let somebody suffer the consequences. He claimed that the girl was but sixteen years old and threatened largely to prosecute the Clerk for issuing the license, fii procuring the license, Mr. Lowmag gav- her age at 19, her next birthday; and that is the age given on the returns made by the officiating justice, to the county clerk. Some of the neighbors of the young lady are also of the opinion that her age was oorrectly given, to the Clerk Eeish, as above .stated, was formerly a partner of Lowman’s, ia business at Pleasant Bidgs, and they failed in business and fell out personally, and these circumstances are- generally believed to form the real grounds for Mr Beish’s objection to th§ marriage.
