Last Wednesday afternoon Jack McGregor, the alleged burglar of W heatfield, who has lately been treated with great,leniency by the sheriff., slipped away, while out of f3l doing some work for the latte r. Search was made for him and os Friday the sheriff received notice that he was at S;ui Fierro, and upon going there he was found busy filling himself with boose. His purpose in escaping seems to have been more from a desire to indulge in a general" drunk than anything else, He is now kept pretty close, and is not likely to be allowed any more liberties, right a wav. .
