The Pinkerton’s and William Green.
Ix>gan?|>ort Pharos. The Pinkerton detective agency of Chicago, succeeded in getting a big lot of free advertising in the Green case. They furnished a very interesting story of how skillfully they had located Bill Green in Kansas and lodged him in jail, and the Associated Press sent it broadcast over the country. Thousands doubtless read the story who will never know that they have been imposed on, and that although the Pinkerton’s arrested a man as stated, he was not the Bill Green wanted in this county. Deputy Sheriff Stanley and Robert Roadabaugh found that the Pinkertons were mistaken ‘ as soon as they reached the Kansas town. They then left for Texas, where another man supposed to be Green is under arrest. This man was apprehended by a Southern detective agency, and if he proves to be the murderer of Brumbaugh, it will be seen that jather agencies, aside -from Pinkerton’s are capable of doing some fine work, although probably unable to get as much free advertising out of it as the Chicago firm. ■
