Enos Timmons president, and Miss May Messenger, secretary. Farming is on a boom. The able bodied men and boys have all enlisted in the service and gone forth to battle. We hope they'sill come again, bringing their aheavjes with them. The Meyers brothers killed two geese Saturday morning. They liav£ killed, perhaps at a low estimate, one dozen geese this Spring. Wm. Teits, formerly of San Pierre, laid the’ foundation of a dwelling in Wheatfield to-day. The examination for graduation of township pupils held at the Wheatfield school house Saturday w’as largely attended by pupils from Kankakee, ’Walker, Keener and Wheatfield. Martin Heil, who has been attending the, Northern Indiana Normal School, at Valparaiso, was visiting at home last week. The Wheatfield literary gave its farewell session on Thursday evening of last week. The lecture given by D. M. - elson, county supt., at the school house Friday evening, was an excellent discourse. It is some little comfort to state that the miscreants are in jail at Watseka, held to answer to the charge of murder.
