The Salmon’s Enemy.
One of the greatest enemies of the salmon and the salmon fisheries in Oregon is the sea lion. It is estimated that half the salmon that enter the Columbia ltiver the early part of season are captured by these big beasts, which also damage nets to the amount of' thousands of dollars. Vast numbers of them congregate at Tillamook rock and at Sealrocks, and it is suggested that dynamite be used to force them to seek other localities.
