The trustee anil teachers of Barkley township, togeth )r with a number of visitors, convened at Barkley Center, . order by J. N. boatherman, township principal. 'After roll call and appointment of critics, the program for the day's work was read by tho secretary. The following subjocts wore then presented and discussed with enthusiasm “Time" by Chas. Hammond; Composition, by Miss Paris; “Jivil Gov." by W. F. Osborne; by J. Ijf• Lcatherman: “Morning Exercises,’ - by Miss Grey. After report of critics and reading of the minutes of the meeting, tho program for next meeting was read, which is as follows: The subject of “Arithmetic" by Miss Belle laris; “John Amos Commenius" by Chas, Hammond; “The Dictionary - ' by W . I-, Osborne; “Attention" L. W Hunt; “The causes that led to tho discovery , of America," D. VV. Shields; “Tho Art of Questioning," C. S, Hartley: “Pun ishments" .Miss Grey: “Behavior" -Eva Rayburn; “Education’ - Rosa Hammond; “U. S. Survey System," D. B. Coppess: “llow the teacher should spend his time out of school.” Mr. Halstead; •Thought Analysis," J. N. Leatherman. After which, institute adjourned to meet at Pleasant Grove school house, on the third Saturday ol January, 1887. Visitors will be welcomed and we think benetitted by coming. Aunt Flick.
