Rev. Armstrong, of the Christian chinch, will preach the Tnauksgiving sermon in the M. E. church. Lawrence Clowrey and Miss Mahala Haris were married by Rev. Father Heilhaky, of the Catholic church, last Sunday. Mrs. S. A. Irwin went to Donovan, 111., last Friday, to visit her son, Dr. Oliver Irwin, who had the misfortune to break one of his legs. Seven persons were taken into full connection with the M. L. church last Sunday, two of whom received the solemn rite of baptism. Miss Marie Bonner, daughter of Mr. Charles Bonner, was lately married in Glen wood, lowa, to Mr. Albert Reeves, a rising business man in that place. Mr. Dibell, who bought the lumber business of J. E. Hollett, has moved to town and is occupying Miss Bolles’ property, lately vacated by Samuel Cambe. After weeks and months of excrutiating and patient suffering, the wife of Hon. George Major passed to her rest on Monday morning last, at four o’clock. Her children were with her during her last moments except her son Charles, who arrived from Dakota three hours after her death. Mrs. Major was loved and respected by all who knew her, and many friends gathered at the family residence, two miles southwest of town, to pay the last sad tribute of respect to one whom they so highly esteemed. The funeral serviceswere conducted by Rev.vh**B. Crowe.
