Captain George W. Lamar, appointed Postmaster of Savannah, Ga., was refused the office by Postmaster,,Wilson. The latter said Lamar might have if when he could take it. PostallnspectorW. W. Simpson of Atlanta, Ga., ejected A. N. Wilson from the postoffiee at Savannah and placed G. W. Lamar in possession. Wilson had positively refused to turn over the office unless force should be used, and went out saying: “I am still postmaster of Savannah; President Cleveland had no right to suspend me under the Constitution.” Wilson was suspended for “offensive partisanship.” The following is the statement of the public debt issued on the Ist of the month: INTEREST-BEARING DEBT.
