Barkley township had its first graduating exercises last Saturday evening, in the new church building, hear Henry Barkley’s place, in the presence of a very large audience. The graduates of the township were four in number, their names and the subjects of their essays or orations, being: Martin L. Pass, subject “Self Reliance;’’ Jennie Remley, subject “American Independence;’’ Inez .0. Walker, subject “Industry;” JohnS. Willey, subject “Literary Qualifications.’! Two of this year’s graduates of Gillam township also look their diplomas at this occasion.! Their names and ’subjects being, Aland Lewis, “Tipmght;” I). C.
