Elder Dwiggins' Evangelical Labors.
By Invitation I aUended Ihevpiarterly conferonce rtf the church <4 God, held kt Dutton, Mich., commencing on Friday, May 28, 188 G. Dutton is ten miles southeast of Grand Rapids, on the Grand Rapids division of the Michigan Central rail road. The meetings were continued several days after tho conference adjourned and were very well attended, persons coming nine miles with teams to attend evening meetings. 1 preached eleven discourses in all. Twelve were baptized and a church of over twenty members was organized. From Dutton I went to Watson, Midi.,
thirty miles south of Grand Rapids, and commenced meetings on Thursday night and held over Sunday. The brethren at Watson have built a very heat church, and have a membership of aliout forty. They are very earnest and zealous in the Master’s work. Brother John-Grant is the leader of the choir. He. is over sixty years old. Any one acquainted with the Grants in our county, would know that he was a Grant without being told. He looks like our Grants, talks like them, laughs like them and reminded me of them by every action and every word. He is the jolliest old man that I ever met. He is the father of sister Mary Woodward. I attended the Indiana quarterly conference held at Antioch, in Marshall county, Ind., commencing on 11th. inst. Had a very good and profitable meeting. R. S. Dwiggixs.
