THE BUT. "... Major E. C. Boynton, df Newburgh, N. Y., has discovered in a Vermont homestead all the original orders issued to the revolutionary army at Woet Point.... Maine has fifty-four savings banks, with deposits of over $36,000,000. During the present year the dividends will be reduced to 3 per cent per annum. Mrs. Lucille Yseult Dudley, who shot O’Donovan Rossa in February. 1885, and has since been confined' in the insane asylum al Middletown, Conn., was transferred to the asylum for insane criminals at Auburn... In a fit of jealousy, at Stanford, Vt, the wife of William Sloan drowned her four-year-old boy, and after being locked, up confessed that she did it to spite her husband, whom the shock has rendered insane. John Kelly’s will has been filed in the Surrogate’s office at New York. In it he bequeaths all his personal and real estate absolutely to his wife, and appoints her guardian of the persons and estates of bis children... .At Niagara Falls Hiram -Mb Wadsworth, of Holly, N. Y., committed suicide by jumping into the rapids from Goat Island bridge. He was carried over the Falls. The Synod of the Reformed Church, in session at New Brunswick, N. J., declared in favor of temperance; but voted down a resolution trying to put it on record as in favor of prohibition.... The Court’ House, Mansion House, and several business structures at Litchfield, Conn., were burned, entailing a loss 'of $200,000, with insurance of SIOO,OOO. T. T. Hendricksen, Catholic Bishop of Rhode Island, died in his arm-chair at Providence from paralysis of the lungs.... Over two hundred New York grocers have sailed for Europe on an extended excursion. ’’
