The Agricultural Society.

A special called meeting Of the Jasper County Agricultural society was held in the Sheriff’s office last Saturday afternoon. Tfie Secretary, Mr. E. C. Nowels, who expects to be out of the county about the time of the next fair, tendered his resignation, which was accepted. Mr. Vai Seib was then unanimously elected to fill the vacancy. It was voted to build a new fence along the south side of the grounds,— 2 a much need ed improvement. In the matter of the request of the Odd Eellows Lodge, of Rensselaer, to be allowed to hold a picnic in the grounds on the 9th of June, itwasZdecicled to charge five dollars for the privilege. , This is a wise and just precedent to establish, and might perhaps well be extended to include Sunday games of base ball.
