A Democratic Opinion of Dr. Washburn.
Winamae Democratic Journal. Our old friend, Dr. I. B. Washburn, formerly of this county, was nominated by the late republican county convention for treasurer of Jasper county. We know of no objection to the doctor, only that he is a strung republican and has always worked for the success of his party. The doctor is conscientious in all his acts, whether political or religious. He made us a good representative as a member from this district in the legislature! where he served some time age. The doctor was township trustee of Van Buren township some years ago and -gave good satis- - faction to his numerous friends. - As the democrats have not much ot a chance to elect a treasurer in that strong republican county, they may vest assured that, if Washburn succeeds, they will find him a pure man,’ and a faithful official.
