• THE KAHT. . ■ -A POST-MORTEM ex*minMion was held ■on the body of George Neal, who died at Newark. N. J., from hydrophobia. A number of physicians attended at the autopsv. The cause of death was estab--1 MshedWrand doubt as hydrophobia. Dr. Edward t. Bradin. one of the physicians who attended Neal, is apprehensive that he has been inoculated with the virus of the disease. He had a small cut on bis [thumb into which some of the- saliva from Neal's mouth dropped. He has sailed for France, and Will place himself under the care of Pasteur. New York telegram: “Er-Aid. Waite’s arrival in town and his statement of his connection with the Broadway franchise steal has raised a rumpus in this ditv that is hardly shaded by the row over the Tweed ring thefts. Inspector Byrnes arrested nAM Kirk to-night and took him to police central headquarters, and; although he is said to be worth in- the neighborhood of : $500,008, he had not got bail up to a late hour. Judge Gildersleeve issued the warrant for Kirk's arrest. Mr. Kirk was President of the Board of Aidermen at the time of the steal.” Nathaniel. S. Ff.roi -son. the wealthiest citizen of Reading. Pa., became insane because of the loss of seven lives in one of his furnaces. Trustees have been appointed to manage property valued at $700,000. More of the New* York Aldermen have been indicted hy the Grand Jury, and are under arrest. It is alleged that one of the Aidermen has turned State's evidence.
