The Work of the Central Committee.

The Jasper County Republican Central Committee met,’ pursuant to call, last Saturday afternoon, in the Sheriff's office to complete their organization, by the election of a chairman ami a secretary for the committee. The -important work of choosing a county chairman was first disposed oh By ima of the conmfittee, the position was tendered to Mr. Alfred Thompson, but that gentleman felt that private interests as well ns uufumilianty with politics, constrained him to decline the position. The committee also adopted a proposition to elect a finance committee, consisting of Alfred Thompson, W. Watson and Yal Sejb; this committee shall eleojj one of its own , members to be treasurer for the ■ounty committee. After full discussion a re oluion was adopted to the effect that when the meeting adjourned, it should be to meet again on Friday March sth, 1886, at which meeting the time; place and manner of nominating the county ticket for the ensuing campaign, will probably be decided upon; and any other necessary political business transacted. •-- 7 r'-;---.; ---

A resolution was unanimously adopted expressing the thanks of the committee to the retiring chairman and secretary, for the ability and zeal with which they had discharged the onerous duties of their respective positions.
