Diphtheria of a malignant type is causing many deaths at South Malone and Duane, Franklin County, N. Y. The fanners of Berks County, Pa., are alarmed at the spread of pleuro-pneumonia, and at a meeting at Reading adopted resolutions in favor of stamping out the disease, and calling upon Congress to appropriate $500,000 to reimburse the losers from the malady in the several States.... The model of a monument to commemorate the wars of the United States, to be erected in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. N. Y., has been completed by J. Q. A. Ward, the sculptor.
