No Retails regarding the manner of the dreadful occurence were sent to the -grief stricken parents of the unfortunate young man. Yesterday a telegram was received from a Mr. Mills, formerly of Goodland, from some point in Minnesota, Saying that he would arrive in Rensselaer, with #„ e body, some time today, (Thursday.) Edwin M. Halstead went to Dakota last June in company with his uncle, the well known and greatly esteemed Elder David T. Halstead. He was 22 or 23 years old, a steady and moral young math a graduate of the publi c schools of Newton township, and had himself taught several terms of school in this county. At the time of his death he was engaged in teaching a school in Dakota. * The Chicago papers of Tuesday gave brief mention of the occurence, but throw no light upon the manner of the death; though the Times' dispatch says that it was probably a suicide. The sorrowing parents and other relatives here, are totally unaware of any catnse that saould have led him to suicide, and do not credit that theory.
