The Circus Won.
Speaking of circuses and elections suggests a heated contest in this county some years ago, when there was a circus exhibition on the day following the election. The negroes, as usual, were circus struck, and"bne of the contesting sides resorted to ruse to secure both the* good will and their votes. A thousand circus tickets were’bought, and on the day of the election a ticket was given to each darky, or white man either, who was willing to accept it and vote accordingly. The circus carried the day.— Atlanta Constitution.
