Two Thousand Dollars From the A. O. U. W.

Monon, Ind., Jan., 11,1885 TWs is to certify that i this day received Two Thousand Dollars ($2000) of Workman, No ala J. York, Recorder of Rensselaer Lodge No. 100, Ancient Order of 'United Workmen, said Lodge located in the town ol Rensselaer, County of Jasper, State of Indiana, the above amount ($2000) sent by N. S. Byram, of Indianapolis, Grand Receiver, through the instructions of Grand Master Workman. C C, Genu ng, of Evansville, attest by A. Ji. Salsich, ot Terre Haute, Grand Recorder, all officers of the Grand Lodge A. O. U. W. of Indiana. The amount paid to me ($2,000, not one penny less) in lull payment of policy No. 6493 held by my husband, Alonzo Pride, up to the time of his death, in the noble order called Ancient Order of United Workmen. My husband became a member of Rensselaer Lodge, No. 100, by initiation, March 24, 1884 died August 19, 1885. May the all wise Father in his infinite wisdom continue to bless this grand order in the future as he has in the past 17 years, (gating back to its organization, is the desire of one who ever feels grateful to the members of the Workmen for their goodness to the widow of their deceased brother, Alonzo Pride.
