Obituary.
Nannie E. Spitler, whose.maiden name was Strickler, was born at Massanutton, Page county, Vir., •Tune Bth 1837, and died in Rensselaer, January 2nd, 1886. at II o’clock p. m. at the age of 48 years, ■6 months and 24 days. She was the youngest of 13 children, 4 of whom survive her. She v its united in marriage, at her native town, on September 18th 1861, to Thomas J. Spitler, who died in 1875 There was born, as the fruit of this union, five children, four of whom are still living. She joined the Presbyterian church in early life, and continued a consistent member thereof until her death. She Avns very firm in her convictions of right, and through the I rials of ten years of Ai idowhood, has* borne herself as becomes a Christian character; and has endeavored to inculcate in the minds of her children the truth of Christianity. She Avns an affectionate wife and a kind and devoted mother, and her place around the fireside cannot be refilled. She was resigned to her fate, and died in the full faith of a hereafter. %*
