He Had Doubts.
Several lawyers were chatting on the court house steps about a certain Judge, when joined the party. *" “We were just talking about Judge Blank,” explained one of the legal lights. “What is your opinion of him?” inquired the merchant. “He is the best Judge on the bench.” “Really?” “Yes, and what is more, he is perfectly honest and truthful.” “Why dayou think so?” “Because he has the confidence of every lawyer at the bar. ” The merchant gazed at him a minute, whistled a long, low whistle, and walked away without saying a word. — Merchant Traveler.
