The Colonies of Great Britain.

The colonies and dependencies of Great Britain are sixty times larger than the kingdom itself, and embrace one-seventh of the land portion of the globe and about one-fourth of its population. Of this dominion nearly 3,000,000 square miles are in America, 1,000,000 in Asia, and 2 f 500,000 in Australia.
