Me. Gladstone’s health is again bad. and it is announced that he is suffering from an attack of lumbago. Lord Randolph Churchill' has broken dowjpunder the demands of the recent Parliamentary, campaign, and ho will make .no more speeches until November. 111-natured people hint that he is shimming . A Copenhagen dispatch says the British steamer Auckland has been sunk in a collision with the German gunboat Blitz. Of the Auckland's crew of seventeen, only two were saved.... Driving the, maneuvers of the German guards .in Berlin, several French officers visiting the grounds were ordered to retire. ... .The Countess of Kingston has offeied the tenants of her estate, the largest in the South of Ireland, facilities to purchase their holdings under the land-purchase act ... Lord Randolph Churchill, Secretary of State for India, has been compelled by failing health to cancel all his political engagements. .. .In a.speech at Belfast, Earl Carnarvon said it was time to institute a thorough inquiry into the relative merits of free trade and protection. The steamer Will, from Genoa for Malaga, has been lost at sea. Forty persons are supposed to have been drowned. ....
