The Oakland Tannery was burned at Louisville, Ky., involving a loss of about $40,000, half covered by insurance. The management of the Pacific Railroad have ordered the immediate construction of a south connection on their main line at San Antonio, Texas, with the San Antonio npd Amnzns Pass' Railroad A malady known as “cliarbon” has carried off hundreds of horses, mules, and cattle in Louisiana. The disease is said to have attacked several persons, in one instance with fatal results. The carcasses of the animals will be burned in order to check the spread of the infection. .. John Fangmau, wife, and 3-vesr-old son died in Baltimore from the effects of trichinre, caused by eating pork. Two other children are in a critical condition. r\
