Jn the contest for the League base hall championship, the Chicago nine still maintains the lead, with the New York, Providence, Philadelphia, and St. Louis clubs following’in the order named. The Boston and Detroit clubs are tied for the next place, and the Buffalos are at the foot of the class. Chicago has won 45 games, New York 42, Providence 34, Philadelphia 27, and Detroit and Boston 20 each. The great Munster Bank, of Cork and Dublin, has suspended payments.
