About the Mew Railroad.

From Ex-Surveyor Lewis S. AL ter, who knows about as much of the prospects of the proposed new railroad from the northeast as anyone in the county, and who, not long since, made a four of inspection of the probable line of the road through the county, we learn that the preliminary surveying corps of the company has been organized and ready to begin work for many Weeks, Certain negotiations are pending with other railroad companies, especially the Chicago & Gt. Southern, and the surveyors are awaiting their completion. Mr. Alter is very confident that the road will be built and that it will probably stride Rensselaer.
