LER THE GOOD WORK GO ON!

Public sentiment lias been thoroughly aroused at last, in favor of the uioveHient toward the erecting of Bartholdi's Statue, “Liberty Enlightening the World,” in the harbor of New York. Some idea of the extent of the publif'sentiment is shown by the fact<wiat the f ‘New-York World” Jias been able to report subscrip- , tions of over §30,000 in a month’s time, in sums averaging less ■ thaw §I.OO each, the great bulk of these; contributions being in dimes and quarters. What a magnificent object it . will be, towering almost into the clouds from New York’s beautiful harbor!! It will stand as a grand and everlasting symbol of liberty before the eyes of every one coming from the oppressed countries ’beyond the ocean. At the gate way of no other nation could it stand with such appropriateness. The .committee in charge of the erection of the pedestal for the reception of this great w ork, have .prepared a beautiful statuette, as a souvenir to send to each person who subscribes §I.OO It is one of the grandest undertakings of modern times, and eminently fitting that it should be built fiom the hearts and pockets of our people. Every person wishing to become a subscriber should send their address to Richard Butler, Secretary American Committee of the Statue of Liberty, N®. 33 -Mercer -Street, New York, and will receive in return a •miniature reproduction of this great work, While large subscriptions are always desirable it would be far more to the credit of this great nation if every man, woman, and child should own a block in the pedestal which will support the -everlasting monument of “Liberty Enlightening the World.” —■" ♦ Ministers, Lawyers, Teachers, aud others whose ■occupation gives them but little exercise, should use Carter’s Little Liver Pills'for torpid liver and biliousness. One is a dose. July. Safe, swift. soh sure to regulate the bowels, are Ayer's Cathartic Pills. When this poisdn develops ,in scrofulous sores, ulcers, or eruptions, rheumatism, or organic 'diseases, the suflering is terrible. Hence the gratitude of those who discover that dyer’s Sarsaparilla will eradicate this'evil.

The Panorama of the Battle of Gettysburg, on exhibition in Chicago, is considered by everybody the greatest attraction of the Garden City. It is visited daily by hundreds of and every body saysrit is the greatest exhibition they ever saw; We can only say that nobody should fail to visit -it while in Chicago. ts. • ■ -S The witnesses in the cases of the Travelers’ Insurance Co. versus Ak Si Dent Al Inju-re in this baili wick-, are all well known and liw among us. They comprise merchants, mechanics, fatnrers, physicians, laborers, cattle dealers, clerks, rail road employees and druggists. More than 170 cases have already been tried and disposed of, upon ex parte evidence, with the company’s agents for judge and jurymen. In every case the claimant has been awarded and paid the fill amount of his or her claim. It will firprise many that these claims, paid at Rensselaer, aggregate thousands of dollars. The money has been paid to the injured, except in one case, it was paid to his widow. The names of claimants and the amount received by each are recorded in a book for that .purpose, and open to the inspection of the public. It demonstrated the wisdom of accident insurance, which can bo bought in any quantity to suit th'e purchaser, at the Loan and Insurance Bureau. Frank W. Babcock, Agent.

The fatal rapidity with which slight Colds and Coughs frequently develop into the gravest maladies of the throat and lungs, is a consideration which should impel every prudent person to keep at hand, as a household remedy, a bottle of AYER’S CHERRY PECTOIIAL. Nothing else gives Such immediate relief and works so sure a cure in all affections of this class. That eminent physician. Prof. F. Sweetzer, of the Maine Medical School, Brunswick, Me., says:— "■'* “Medical sciencer'has produced no other anodyne expectorant so good as Ater's Cherry Pectoral. It is invaluable for diseases of the throat and lungs.” ’ * The -kame opinion is expressed by the well-known Dr. L. J. Addison, of Chicago, 111., who says:— “I have never found, In thirty-five years of continuous study and practice of medicine, any preparation of so great valuers Ayer's Cherry Pectoral, for treatment of diseases of the throat and lungs; It hot only breaks up colds and cures severe coughs, but is more effective than anything else in relieving even the most kerious bronchial and pulmonary affections.” AYER'S Cherry Pectoral is not a new claimant for popular confidence, but it medicine which is to-day saving the lives pf the third generation who have come into being since it was first offered to the public. There is not a household in Which this invaluable remedy has once been introduced where its use has ever been abandoned, and there is not a person who has ever given it a proper trial for any throat or lung disease susceptible of cure, who has not been made well bv it. AYfcR'S CHERRY PECTORAL has, in numberless instances, cured obstinate eases of chronic Bronchitis, Laryngitis, and even acute. Pneumonia, and htw saved many patients in the earlier stages of Pulmonary Consumption. It is a 'medicine that only requires to be taken iu small doses, is pleasant to the taste, and is heeded in every house where there are children, as there, is nothing so good as AYER’S CHERBY PECTOR AL for treatment of Croup and Whooping Cough. These are all plain facts, which eah be verified by anybody, and should be remembered by everybody. Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral, prepared by br. i. 'C. Ayer & Co., Lowell, Mass. Sold by all Druggists-.
