Rensselaer Rost., No. 81, Dept, Ind., G. A. R., hereby tender thanks for the loyal and patriotic tribute to Memorial Day services and especially to the Rensselaer Cornet Band, who are always on time, and ever render prompt and cheerful obedience to all orders •riven; also to the 1. 0, O. F. for their kindly assistance; and most especially to the children of the common schools and Sunday schools, who so promptly “fell into line” and whose willing hands placed the floral tributes upon the graves of our dead comrades; also to the ladies of the committee who well performed their task; to the Ladies’ Literary’ Society, for their able and timely aid, and .Resolved:— That this post extends its gratitude and congratulations to the public at large for such a general turnout and observance as to show that respect and reverence for the day that commemorates our heroic dead still lives, as it ever should, deep in the hearts of a liberty loving people. Resolved:— That the thanks of the post bo tendered Messrs. G. E. Marshall and J. W. McEwen for the valuable aid of their respective publications and that the Adjutant of this post be directed io request them to give publicity in The Rensselaer Republican and Dcmocratic Sentihel to these resolutions.
