A Special Version of a Psalm.
The following incident is said to have occurred in the parish church of Bradford, England, during a special service oh the occasion of a visit from the Bishop of the diocese. The clerk, before the sermon, gave out the psalm in broad Wiltshire dialect, as follows: “Let us zing to the praavze an’ glawry o’ God, three varzes o’ the hundred an’ vourteem zaam—a version ’specially ’dapted to the ’casion—by meself.” Why hop ye zo. ye little hills.
