His Bow Well Rosined.

Among the great fortunes made during war time was that of W. O- , a Philadelphian who, in partuewdlip with a young New York broker, %iade a purchase of .rosin just at the outbreak of the Rebellion. The price paid was 75 cents a barrel. The price advanced very rapidly and in a very short time the sticky compound was worth sl2 a barrel. The plucky Philadelphian mortgaged his profits and not only bought out his partner’s share in the merchandise, but added largely to his s ock. When he finally closed out the speculation at sl2 to SSO a barrel, he had cleared a fortune. He now lives in a beautiful home in West Philadelphia as a result of his foresight.—Philadelphia Press. ■ ! 1 .
