Weather fine and snow almost gone. O. A. Yeoman thought he was taking -the mumps and started for the jail last morning. We hops he wil* be happily disappointed and may soon Tetura to his school. A protracted meeting was oommenc«d at Pleasant Valley school house last Sunday, They have a large congregation ovary night, and the; people are working earnestly for a Revival and '.some good will surely be accomplished •by it If Pedegog was here this winter he could smell the brimstone, cold or trio cold. Dr. Bobbins reports seven cases of -whooping oongh in one family. The •rest of the family are certainly exposed. ---- , . i™ TheDeMotte Literary has closed for the winter and the young folks are -now practicing for an exhibition to -come off the 29th es March. Without a doubt it will be one of the best entertainments of the kind ever hold in northern Jasper. Ellie Tyler has been sick for several •days but is now on the mend with fair [promises that he will be up in a few •days. . Our neighboring townships have all the whooping cough, but we don’t want it, we would rather whistle than •cough any time.
