BARKLEY ITEMS.

The snow is gradually disappearing, -and next will come the mnd. Mumps are now raging in Barkley and haye been for some tame. The latest case reported was that of our joomg friend, Mr. S. W. English. The schools are all closed except Smith school which will close March iith. Mr. S.«. Moffitt. teacher. Mr. D. M. Guild, one of Gillam’s roost noted and best teachers, closed a wery successful term of school, Friday, March 6th, at Center, and he also com* pleted one term of singing school, of wfaioh many of our young people took advantage; and thought they were .greatly benefitted by so doing. We understand that Mr. John Florence and family will move to town aeon, wa are sorry to have them leave us, but hope they will be pleased with .'their new home, their son, Leroy, who so lately took unto himself a wife, will jwmsbiroi the form.
