The Tippecanoe County Fair.

Lafayette Journal. The Tippecanoe County Agricultural Society met on Saturday to diseuss the question as to whether they should give a county fair this year. It will be rememberedrthat the last fair resulted in a heavy financial embarrassment and the society still has a debt of about $4,000 on its shoulders. After/, thoroughly discussing the question it was decided that the fair would be hell, but that it would be made more of a local affair. No exhibitions’' will be courted outside the county. The amount of tfcfe prizes will be reduced to a sum not to exceed $3,000. It will open on , August 31... and. will continue ddring Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, September Ist, 2d and 3d. The c'bject of the Association in holding the fair is to attempt to cleat enough money to pay off the debt which they owe. The local merchants will be appealed to as exhibitors, and it is hoped th£tt the amount necessary can be raised.
