A~'sy dictate lias been formed to purchase the property, which is now in the hands of a receiver, and then extend it southward. The road was projected from Fair Oaks, lad., to Brazil, Ind., a distance of 121 miles. It has boon completed to Yeddo, ind., seventy-six mites. The road was-cnar “tered March 8, 1880, to run from liaSe Michigan to the coal fields at Brazil, and March 10, 18851, it was consolidated with the Cbi(?sgo & Block Coal railroad, whichf was organized in 1870 as successor to the Indiana North :rod South railroad, sold under foreclosure. The last financial statement of the company was as follows: Capital stock authorized, 93,000,000; issued, -81.000,0*00: funded debt, first mortgage, ,s.x per cent, thirty-year bonds, dated Nov. 1, 1881, authorized. &2 eOo.obo: issued, $1,000,000: total stock And bouds issued, $2,<100,000.
