CHIPS FROM WALKER.

Weather oold, plenty of snow on the ground, especially in the roads, as it is drifted considerable. ■ ■ ' v ‘ Health generally good, and business lively in this part of Walker. All the schools are getting along line, with the exception of the scratches. Mr. John Hershruan, while drawing water for the cattle, last week, slipped and fell, hurting Jnjpself very badly, breaking one or two ribs, but he is getting along very well no\y. Although it is very cold, Mr. Frank Tlershmau has lately been son-struck—-a ltf pounder. Messrs. Wm. Warren and Bruce White, both of Rensselaer, accompanied by Millie and OUie Ziok, were the guests of Mr. Ziok's family, last week. Mr. Salrin has just returned home from his visit in Ohio, ho intended'buying some cattle there, but he say’s cattie are higher there than here. The Literary at the Hershman school house is. doing splendidly, and has a good attendance.
