To whom it may concern: The readers of The Republican will remember that not long since Mr. Hiner advertised that he would run, (and did run,) an excursion train, from Lafayette to points in Kansas and Colorado. He also .advertised that he would be at Hemphill & Honan’s store,, in Rensselaer, on a pertain day, lor the; purpose of selling tiokeis, etc. I called Upon him. and he informed me that he could sell me a Round Trip ticket, from Lafayette to my desired poiut in Kansas, tor $15.00. Tokl me to come to Lafayette on Monday, and he would be there, and sell me a ticket.. I went to Lafayette on the day appointed, and, on applying for my ticket, was informed, by Mr. Hiner and the ticket agent, that theke had bken a mistake between him and the agent, and tliev could not give me a ticket for less than I remonstrated all I could, but :ani sorry .to say Mr. Hiner did not v TANi) TO WHAT HE AGREED AT RENSSELAER. If anyone doubts ■this statement, let him enquire of Messrs. John ■Coen, Hugh Coen, William •Greenfield or James Hassons, who were all treated the same as myself. We took the Lake Erie & Western road, which is a slow, liae.
