Seven stores and an hotel at Hopkinsville, Ky., were destroyed by fire. The loss is $76,000, folly insured. All the white messenger bdys in the employ of toe Western Union Company at Savannah, Ga., have been discharged, colored lads taking their places... .Messrs. Derosset and Pass engaged in a duel With shot-guns in toe streets of Rockwood, Tenn. Both men were mortally wounded: .... A prohibitory liquor ordinance has gone into effect at Hot Springs, Arkansas, with a limit of two years. Russell Hancock, son of Maj. Gen. Hancock, died at his cotton plantation near Clarksdale, Miss.
