Before Squire Purcupile.

■ u Mr. James Maloy was brought before Squire Purcupile Tuesday charged with committing an assault upon Charley Blue, a boy of about 16 or 17 years of age. He plead guilty and Was fined one dollar and costs. No evidence was taken at the trial but from common minor it would seem that young Blue and several of his companions haVe anh'oyed Mr. Maloy very ffiuch at different tiihes, throwing brickbats; showballs &c, against his house, his barn or himself, and becoming exasperated thereat, he laid hands upon young Blue and earnestly and diligently cuffed his ears. This, hoWjver, as we said is only the common sf ‘eet talk df the matter, and may be, in some respects, incorrect, The full / truth of the matter may, perhaps, be developed next Friday, as Maloy i j after the case against him/ ms disposed of, caused Blue to bd arrested on charge of provoking an assault, and the trial of the case was set for that day. The bastardy case of Minnie Warren j vs Edmuhd Nash was settled, before j his honor, on Tuesday. The young woihan is hot a mother yet, but thinks she has good reasons for expecting to become sdeh before many moons have waxed and waned.
